The incumbent will supervise the sales and distribution processes on the local market in St. Kitts.
JOB TITLE: DISTRIBUTION SUPERVISOR
LOCATION: ST KITTS & NEVIS (CARIB Brewery Ltd)
JOB SUMMARY
Supervises the sales and distribution processes on the local market in St. Kitts. Exercises a high degree of initiative and independent judgement within defined areas of authority. Work is performed within broad policy guidelines and periodically reviewed by the Managing Director or his delegate.
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
1. Reports directly to the Distribution Manager.
2. Supervises the activities of all Distribution staff.
3. Works with the Accounts Department to ensures and all deductions as relates to shorts for Contractor drivers and cashiers.
4. Liaise with the Stores Department with respect to stock
5. Relates internally with the Accounts Receivable personnel and warehouse staff.
6. Checks and reviews payroll information for all weekly paid employees in the department for submission to the Accounts Department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Assists with the availability on a daily basis of appropriate numbers of road worthy sales vehicles, contractors and drivers, loaders, and support personnel to provide a delivery service that is responsive to the demands for product.
- Monitors stock movements to ensure that minimum and maximum stock levels are maintained at both Depots.
- Ensures that the Depots are clean, tidy, and orderly and maintained in accordance with acceptable housekeeping standards.
- Ensures that the loading and the dispatching of vehicles are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures that vehicles delivering product leaves the compound in a timely manner.
- Ensures that cash is deposited daily.
- Ensures that all overs/shorts (cash and stock) are correctly accounted for daily.
- Ensures that compensation to contractor drivers is correctly calculated and this information is passed to the Accounts department weekly by Thursday 11 am.
- Ensures and all settlements, cash reporting and inventory transactions in AX are posted correctly on a daily basis
- Ensures at all receipts from customers, settlement documents, cash reports are sent to the Accounts office within 1 business day of the transaction occurring.
- Ensures that all returned cheque information is passed to Accounts within 1 business day of receipt from the bank.
- Follows up with customers re collection of funds related to 8 above.
- Ensures that empties returned from the trade are properly stored and returned to the area at the brewery assigned for these.
- Maintains a close liaison with the Warehouse Supervisor regarding availability of product for sale.
- Develops and maintains a culture of safety awareness and safe work practices
- Ensures a safe and clean work environment by developing, enforcing and complying with procedures, rules, regulations and Company policy.
- Contributes to overall team efforts by developing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Performs any other related duties as may be required by the function.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of one years’ experience in a similar role
