The Opportunity- Restaurant Supervisor
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, skilled and highly motivated individual join our Food & Beverage Team. The Restaurant Supervisor will work as part of the Restaurant teams at the Crane to supervise, train and inspect the performance of the restaurant staff, ensuring that all procedures are completed to Hotel standards.
Applications open to Barbadian nationals, persons with permission to reside and work in Barbados, or persons eligible to reside and work with a CARICOM Skills certificate.
Summary of Main Duties:
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor laws/regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness. Complete requisition for additional supplies needed and submit to relevant manager.
- Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies.
- Assign work and side duties to staff in accordance with departmental procedures. Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
- Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
- Constantly monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.
- Organize, coordinate, and direct staff in set-up, service, and breakdown of hospitalities in accordance with departmental standards; follow up on special arrangements with respective personnel.
- Provide feedback on staff performance to Manager. Report disciplinary problems to Manager and participate in the counseling of employees.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least one-year experience in a similar role
- The foresight to anticipate, identify, and solve any problems or information in need of consideration and adjustment.
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
- The ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Excellent health.
- The ability to understand and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
