The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the air conditioning and refrigeration service department.

Summary: The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the air conditioning and refrigeration service department. This role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring timely and quality service delivery to clients, maintaining inventory, souring parts, and adhering to safety regulations. The Service Manager will also be involved in customer relations, resolving escalated issues, and driving business growth through excellent service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all technicians.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  2. Service Delivery:
    • Schedule and assign service calls to technicians efficiently.
    • Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Maintain quality standards in service delivery.
    • Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
    • Make electronic records of paper job tickets.
    • Monitoring of supermarkets via remote monitoring software.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain inventory records of tools, equipment, and spare parts necessary for AC service and repair.
    • Regularly assess tool and equipment condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
    • Coordinate with procurement department to ensure timely acquisition of required tools and parts.
    • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss or theft.
    • Conduct regular audits of inventory to reconcile discrepancies and optimize stock levels.
  4. Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures within the department.
    • Investigate and report any accidents or safety violations.
  5. Customer Relations:
    • Interact with customers to understand their needs and concerns.
    • Provide assistance and guidance in choosing appropriate solutions.
    • Handle escalated customer inquiries or complaints professionally.
  6. Business Development:
    • Identify opportunities for business growth and expansion.
    • Recommend improvements to service offerings based on customer feedback.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in HVACR or AC service management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to service management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in HVAC service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
