Furniture Manager
Title: Furniture Manager
Location: Giftland Group, Giftland Mall – Guyana
Reports To: General Manager Retail
Job Summary:
The Furniture Manager oversees the operations of the furniture department, ensuring sales targets are met, excellent customer service, and efficient inventory management. Key responsibilities include managing and training staff, coordinating furniture displays, maintaining stock levels, and working with suppliers on product orders. The role also includes managing the furniture assembly team, analyzing performance metrics, and executing strategies to increase revenue. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and knowledge of furniture trends are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Management:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing retail team.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Customer Experience:
- Ensure a welcoming and engaging shopping environment for customers.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to enhance satisfaction.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels, ensuring products are well-stocked and displayed effectively.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage product availability and shipments.
- Visual Merchandising:
- Implement visually appealing product displays that align with brand standards.
- Monitor and update displays regularly to reflect current promotions and trends.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasting sales and controlling expenses.
- Analyze financial data to improve profitability.
- Marketing Initiatives:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to execute promotional events and campaigns.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs and events.
Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to General Manager – Retail Operations
Supervisory Responsibilities: Furniture supervisor, CSRs, assemblers, bond clerks.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in furniture or home decor sectors.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

Job Conditions
Will be spending 100% of time in Giftland unless required to travel for special projects.

Salary and Benefits:
Salaries and Benefits are based on Giftland existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Giftland. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
