Location: Giftland Group, Giftland Mall – Guyana
Reports To: General Manager Retail
Job Summary:
The Store Operations Manager is responsible for assisting with the management functions that support sales and operations, merchandising, purchasing and ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the Department Store. The Store Operations Manager is a role model and leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions and manage the workforce. Requires strong time management to achieve maximum results.
This post will support the Retail General Manager in the management of the store operations and have specific functions as per primary department.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Job Requirements/Specifications
- Assist in managing and coordinating the daily operations of the retail departments.Coordinate with the marketing department on sales promotion activities and ensure standards are kept for all display signage.
- Oversee compliance of Supervisor, Team Leaders and associates with established Company policies and standards, such as personnel practices, and overall maintenance of the store.
- Assist with scheduling of employees within assigned departments.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior employees.
- Review sales and inventory reports per department and make recommendation when necessary to improved.
- Work with Junior Supervisors, Team leaders, Merchandizers and CSRS to ensure store is well kept, properly merchandized, priced and up to required retail standards.
- Liaise with Receiving and Warehouse departments to monitor and optimize processes of pulling and moving merchandize to departments.
- Help solve problems that affect the store's service, efficiency, and productivity.
- Assist with monitoring of annual leave and sick leave for employees within designated departments.
- Assist the HR department in identifying training needs for employees.
- Provide and inspire outstanding service to our customers.
- Provide a model of supportive and participatory leadership. Promote team building and empowerment.
- Attend weekly and monthly departmental meetings to address and resolve any issues, policies and procedures and continual training processes.
- Any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to the Retail General Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisors, Team leaders, CSRS and Bond Clerks.
Education:
- Degree/Diploma in Management or Marketing.
Experience: At least three (5) years’ experience in a retail environment, preferably at the level of a manager or supervisory post.

Job Conditions
Will be spending 100% of time in Giftland unless required to travel for special projects.

Salary and Benefits
Salary and Benefits are based on Giftland existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Giftland. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
