Buyer

J. Astaphan & Company Limited is looking to recruit a responsible, team-oriented, and personable experienced Buyer. The role involves establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers while managing all local and foreign procurement activities.

JOB SUMMARY

• Identify and select products for purchase based on customer needs, current trends, and market research.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to secure quality merchandise at competitive prices.
• Monitor stock levels and analyze inventory reports to ensure timely reordering and stock replenishment.
• Continuously analyze sales data to assess product performance and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly
• Work closely with the marketing team to ensure product selections align with company campaigns, brand identity, and customer expectations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and resolve any supply chain issues that may arise.
• Oversee the tracking of incoming and outgoing purchase orders and prepare all supplier contract terms and conditions.
• Negotiate favorable credit terms and conditions with suppliers and monitor claims for damaged or defective products
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Retail Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in purchasing, merchandising, or a related retail role
• Solid understanding of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and supply chain processes.
• Extensive knowledge of sales and inventory management
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to execute functions with minimum supervision
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
