Warehouse Supervisor

We are seeking to employ an experienced Warehouse Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for safe custody and uninterrupted supply so as to avoid any opportunity loss, optimization of warehousing costs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Management:

• Assist warehouse manager by preparing for receiving and clearance of import container.

Picking for Transfer Orders:

• Arranges and allocates warehouse attendants for picking up the stock to be transferred.

Pallets Assembling:

• Ensures optimized pillarization with clear segregation of location.

Transfer posting:

• Ensures physical transfer leave the warehouse with proper documentation and security checks.

Transfer Clearing:

• Ensures transfers are cleared within the stipulated time and bottlenecks, if any, are liaised with the respective store
• Coordinates with inventory clerk for getting transfer posting done
• Clearing of system transfers older than a week.
• Conducts the stock take if the differences arises in the transfers.

Invoice posting:

• Ensure accuracy of stocks received with quality checks.

Cycle counting and stock taking/ negative inventory:

• Conducts cycle counting and stock taking activities with adherence to the dates and calendars as scheduled by Inventory Manager and Auditors from time to time.
• Provides for explanations and justifications to be obtained for variances, if any.

Safekeeping of inventory and general maintenance:

• Ensures safekeeping of inventory and maintains inventory in saleable conditions at all times.
• Escalates to the Warehouse Manager or Assist Manager any storage conditions that are adverse to the safekeeping of inventory.

• Schedules regular maintenance of facility, equipment including the pest control activity.

Dump, Damage and Discard

• Prepares weekly recording of dump, if any, and submits it to warehouse manager/ asst manager

Opportunity loss

• Brings to attention of warehouse manager any inventory that has been damaged with the cause.

Statutory compliances

• Customs, AEO, certification and compliance at all times. 

Team Management:

• Supervise and mentor a team of warehouse attendants, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development opportunities for team members.

Human Resource Related

• Adhere and ensure to the requirements of Food Handlers, Forklift certification, MOH   licenses, Disciplinary Code of Conduct

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with at least 2 years in a Supervisory position in the retail industry.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Ability to effectively manage and lead personnel.
• Ability to be able to work anytime of the Day/Night
• High level of accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant Information Management Software.
