The role of the Systems Administrator is to assist with planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget throughout the Group.

  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of computer units, servers, network storage, and networking equipment.
  • Configure hardware and the Operating Systems to ensure applications are operational.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Assist and perform daily maintenance and upgrades of networks, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
  • Practice network asset management and related documentation and technical specifications, including monitoring of network components for integrity and availability of all server and network resources.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
  • Maintain system standards for installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance procedures.
  • Deploy and manage the movement of equipment, including servers, routers, switches, computers, printers, and scanners.
  • Manage systems, including e-mail, Telephony, DHCP, DNS Active Directory, GPO, and print servers
  • Maintain and verify backup servers/systems.
  • Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Manage the organization’s standardized communications and connectivity solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.
  • Investigate, anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, networks, systems, service issues, and other software problems on workstations and other computer equipment.
  • Provide first-hand support, training, and troubleshooting to all office staff for technology matters
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to implement desktop systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
  • Provide the necessary information for the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  • Performs any other duties which are incidental or consequential to the above, as may be assigned by the Head of Department or representative.
