National Rums of Jamaica Limited - Clarendon Distillers Limited is seeking to recruit an accountable and reliable candidate to fill the position of Shift Supervisor. The individual we are looking for will be responsible for the shift operations of the distillery and shift employees. The successful candidate willobserve the safety and compliance requirements of the business and be able to work with the Production Manager and other supervisors to maintain the operations. A strong supervisory skillset with minimum of three (3) proven successful years of supervisory experience is required. The incumbent will be expected to perform any other associated duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct all operations on shift, inclusive of fermentation, laboratory, distillation, water treatment, steam generation and maintenance type functions.
Prepare detailed shift report as required by management.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct operational problems that may occuron shift.
Advisemanagement on shift progress and operations and make appropriate. recommendations for improvements in efficiency.
Maintain a safe and orderly work-area at all times in accordance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
Collaborate with plant maintenance for repairs of equipment and machinery as needed to maintain operations on schedule.
Maintain working knowledge of SOP's, fire protection system and emergency shut off devices in order to handle emergencies as safely and efficiently as possible.
Provide oversight and supervision to all personnel on shift.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of:
B.Sc. in Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or similar qualification
Supervisory Management certification
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate should:
Have three (3) years' experience in a supervisory or management (Spirits Industry strongly preferred).
Have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Have knowledge of GMPs, HACCP,OSHA, and NEPA regulations
Be computer literate
Moderate MS Office skills
Have strong ethical and professional values.
