National Rums of Jamaica Ltd

National Rums of Jamaica which was incorporated in 1980 and is located in Kingston, is a rum producing and exporting company that is jointly owned by the government of Jamaica, West Indies Rum Distillery Ltd. of Barbados (which is owned by Maison Ferrand of France), and Demerara Distillers of Guyana. National Rums of Jamaica is comprised of two major distilleries, the Long Pond Distillery, which has been in operation for over 250 years, and the Clarendon Distillery, which has been in operation for just over two hundred years.  There is also Innswood Distillery Limited, a company that no longer operates under that name, but is instead used for barreling, ageing and warehousing of rums. The business of National Rums of Jamaica is to oversee the production, promotion and marketing of all the alcohol and fermentation related activities of the distilleries under its control – the Clarendon Distillery, (the former) Innswood Distillery and the Long Pond Distillery.

The company produces the brand Monymusk Plantation Rum which has six expressions three of which won gold at The Miami Rum Festival – 2017/18 and more recently a silver medal at the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial which took place in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) in August of 2018. The company’s core business is the making of bulk rums which is exported mainly to Canada and the European market. In recent years the company has been shifting focus to the branded rum market and now has its own Monymusk Branded Rums in the form of six expressions, namely;
