Senior Maintenance Technician-A/C & Refrigeration

The Senior A/C & Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Additionally, the role will involve supporting basic facility maintenance tasks and assisting with jobs related to other trades as needed.

GCG Group Jamaica is a member of the GCG Group which operates in 21 countries across the US, Caribbean, Central and South America. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Senior A/C & Refrigeration Technician at our Montego Bay location.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform repairs for the ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems in the company’s’ facilities. Recharging a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems by selecting the appropriate refrigerant.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, compressors, valves, pumps and various other mechanical devices.

• Communicate with internal customers to resolve any ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration system maintenance issues, particularly on the production floor. 

• Collaborate with internal departments to address any ventilation, air-conditioning, or refrigeration issues, especially on the production floor

• Complete all necessary documentation, including work orders, inspection sheets, emergency repair reports, and parameter logs.

• Provide regular updates to the Maintenance Leadership team regarding completed tasks and outstanding issues, ensuring all jobs are completed to satisfactory standards.

• Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills for refrigerant and control systems, including the proper reclamation of refrigerant and completing the required regulatory paperwork.

• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, including tasks in other trades such as plumbing, electrical work, welding, and light fabrication.

• ACADEMIC & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• HEART/NTA Level 3 Certification in A/C and Refrigeration as a minimum, or other equivalent Professional Certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a refrigeration technician
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
