Maintenance Technican (Mechanical)

The Maintenance Technician has responsibility to install, troubleshoot, and repair of beverage plant mechanical equipment and production systems involving work of a varied nature.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Effective Communication

• Inform team members of company and departmental progress and changes
• Provide team members with feedback on projects / PM activities
• Advise Maintenance Supervisor / Planner of variances from status of daily work schedule

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

• Operate in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
• Maintaining working environment according to GMP Housekeeping Standards

Fabrication and Maintenance on Mechanical Equipment

• Perform machinery and equipment repair, use welding Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Plasma Arc Welding(PAW), sheet metal arc welding and oxy-acetylene welding
• Install beverage machinery and conveyor equipment
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex equipment
• Execute work in a safe, neat and workman like manner
• Clean the job site

Record Keeping

• Ensure full completion of all records and work orders and submit them to the Supervisor in a timely manner
• Any other duty as may be assigned within the scope of the job

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• HEART NTEI Level III certification with at least three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or  
• Minimum five (5) CSEC passes including English A and Mathematics/ Principles of Accounts with three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Sound knowledge of Industrial Mechanical Systems including conveyors, pumps, filling machines, reverse osmosis Systems, CO₂ systems and troubleshooting mechanical systems
• Demonstrable experience with general installations with key focus on mechanical installations
• Must be able to exercise flexibility towards work coverage
• Great communication skills – written and verbal including the preparation of reports with the ability to give clear instructions
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to function well individually and on a team within a demanding work environment
