Senior Accountant General Ledger & Fixed Assets

The role is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting related to general ledger and fixed assets within the telecommunications finance shared services organisation.

CRITERIA

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA) is a requirement.
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in financial accounting, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role within a shared services or telecommunications environment.
• Audit background in a Big Four practice is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, fixed asset accounting, and GL processes.
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite) or similar financial platforms.

DUTIES

General Ledger Management:

• Oversee the general ledger function, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed within corporate timelines.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Analyze financial statements and variances, providing insights and recommendations.

Fixed Assets Management:

• Supervise the fixed assets accounting function, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, impairment reviews, and disposals.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial records.
• Oversee periodic physical asset verification and reconciliation.

Financial Compliance & Controls:

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Maintain policies and procedures to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
