Revenue Accountant

The role is responsible for ensuring the accurate recognition, reporting, and analysis of revenue in compliance with IFRS 15 and other relevant accounting standards.

CRITERIA

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA) is a requirement.
• 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in the telecommunications industry or a finance-shared services environment.
• Audit background in a Big Four practice is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite) and revenue accounting software.

DUTIES

• Revenue Recognition & Compliance: Ensure revenue is recorded accurately per IFRS 15 and other applicable accounting standards.
• Billing & Revenue Assurance: Collaborate with the revenue assurance team to validate the completeness and accuracy of revenue streams.
• Financial Close & Reporting: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Contracts & Agreements Review: Analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
• Data Analysis & Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations between billing systems, general ledger, and revenue sub-ledgers. Investigate discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy in revenue reporting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, commercial, and technology teams to ensure alignment of revenue recognition policies and reporting requirements.
• Audit Support: Prepare supporting documentation and respond to internal and external audit queries related to revenue accounting
