The Opportunity- Security Officer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, skilled and highly motivated individual to join our Security Team.  The Security Officer will work as part of  the team at the Crane to monitor and patrol assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees.  Responsibilities include patrolling the property with specified equipment, checking all designated points, documenting all actions taken and monitoring surveillance cameras.

Applications open to Barbadian nationals, persons with permission to reside and work in Barbados, or persons eligible to reside and work with a CARICOM Skills certificate.

Summary of Main Duties:

• Ensuring the safety and welfare of the property, guests and staff.
• Providing a sense of well being for all persons on property.
• Recording and investigating all incidents occurring on property.
• Establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with the local district police station.
• Maintaining regular patrols.
• Conducting designated investigations into theft or lost items, noise complaints, assault complaints, food poisoning complaints, and other guest complaints; complete documented reports.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• At least one-year experience in a similar role.
• A completed secondary education with good writing skills and a sound knowledge of the English Language.
• Excellent health.
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
• A healthy curiosity with an eye for detail.
• The foresight to anticipate, identify, and solve any problems or information in need of consideration and adjustment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, enduring various physical movements including lifting heavy objects, stretching, pushing and bending.
• Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
