Project Engineer - Mechanical, Piping, Fabrication.

Main Purpose of Job:

The successful candidate will assume an Engineering Officer role within the Projects team, emphasizing the critical responsibility of designing comprehensive plans to guide operations. This involves actively engaging with and extracting valuable facts and data from the collaborative efforts of the team members. This role requires a Project Engineer specialized in Mechanical, Piping, and Fabrication. This position plays a key role in supporting and executing engineering projects under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess robust knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in piping and fabrication, and be adept at applying these skills in a project context within a manufacturing environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Engineering Design and Implementation:
    • Assist in the design and implementation of engineering projects focusing on mechanical systems, piping, and fabrication.
    • Ensure that designs and finished projects adhere to internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  2. Project Support and Coordination:
    • Provide technical support and coordination for project activities under the direction of the Senior Project Manager.
    • Assist in managing project timelines, resources, and budget constraints.
  3. Technical Analysis and Problem Solving:
    • Perform technical analyses and contribute to problem-solving in project-related challenges.
    • Provide innovative solutions to improve project outcomes.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Assist in the implementation of quality assurance processes and ensure all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards.
    • Participate in the testing and validation of project components.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design files, technical drawings, and reports.
    • Assist in preparing progress updates and reports for the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  2. Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other engineers, technicians, and project team members.
    • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure project alignment with company goals.
  3. Professional Development:
    • Keep updated on the latest trends and advancements in mechanical engineering, piping, and fabrication.
    • Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on piping and fabrication.
  • Experience in a project engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in CAD and other engineering software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
