Project Engineer - Power, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation.

Main Purpose of Job:

The successful candidate will assume an Engineering Officer role within the Projects team, emphasizing the critical responsibility of designing comprehensive plans to guide operations. This involves actively engaging with and extracting valuable facts and data from the collaborative efforts of the team members. This role requires a Project Engineer specialized in Power, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation. The role involves working under the direction of the Senior Project Manager to plan, execute, and finalize projects related to electrical systems, power distribution, instrumentation, and automation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in these areas, demonstrating expertise in integrating modern electrical and automation solutions into manufacturing processes.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    • Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to power, electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
    • Ensure project objectives align with company goals and comply with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Technical Design and Development:
    • Collaborate in the design and development of electrical and automation systems for manufacturing processes.
    • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  3. Project Coordination:
    • Coordinate with various teams, including engineering, operations, and external contractors, for the successful execution of projects.
    • Monitor project progress and report on timelines, budget, and resource utilization.
  4. Problem Solving and Innovation:
    • Provide technical solutions to complex problems in power distribution, electrical systems, and automation.
    • Contribute to innovative approaches that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
  1. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Assist in maintaining quality control throughout project life cycles, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
    • Conduct inspections and validations of project elements.
  2. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design records, progress reports, and final evaluations.
    • Assist in preparing regular reports for the Senior Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  3. Collaborative Teamwork:
    • Work closely with other project team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues to support professional development within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project engineering, specifically in power systems, electrical design, instrumentation, and/or automation.
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., CAD, PLC programming, simulation tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
