Clarendon Distillers Limited, a subsidiary of National Rums of Jamaica Limited, is seeking a Process Engineer to drive innovation, optimize production processes, and enhance product quality.

This is a full-time, supervisory role reporting to the Production Manager, with direct oversight of the Lab Supervisor, Lab Analyst, and Fermentation Staff.

• Technically strong, with a background in distillation, fermentation, and utility systems.
• Analytical & data-driven, using KPIs to monitor efficiency and recommend improvements.

• A problem-solver, able to troubleshoot production challenges and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborative & communicative, liaising across departments to ensure seamless production operations.
• Committed to quality, working closely with the Quality Assurance team to meet regulatory standards.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Optimize distillation and fermentation processes to maximize efficiency and product quality.
• Implement innovative technologies to enhance sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Distillation & Fermentation Efficiency.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot production issues, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams.
• Train and develop production staff in process improvements and best practices.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of:

• B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid Food Handler’s Permit.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT

The successful candidate should:

1. At least three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in distillation or beverage production

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

1. Strong technical knowledge of distillation, fermentation, and utilities.
2. Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
3. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
4. Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain strong attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite.
