The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing weekly payroll using a computerized HRp system, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries through the accounting system.

Work Location: Arima (O’Meara Industrial Estate)

Employment Type: Contract - 6 months (may be transitioned to permanent)

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 pm

Salary: $6,000.00 per month plus overtime

Job Summary

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing weekly payroll using a computerized HRp system, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries through the accounting system. The role involves the monthly calculation and timely remittance of statutory deductions, including Income Tax, Health Surcharge, and National Insurance to the relevant government authorities. This position requires the preparation of periodic earnings, taxes, and deductions reports, along with accounting journals with accurate account allocations.

Duties and Responsibilities (But not Limited to)

  • Process weekly payroll using computerized system (HRp).
  • Manages the payment of wages and salaries via the accounting system.
  • The monthly calculation of the statutory deductions (i.e. Income Tax, Health Surcharge and National Insurance)
  • Ensuring that all statutory deductions are remitted to the local government authorities on a timely basis.
  • Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Preparation of accounting journals with the relevant account allocations.
  • Pays attention to detail.  
  • Any other duties within the payroll department

Special Skills and Competencies Required:

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Impeccable integrity and high level of confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent analytical skills with good attention to detail.
