Operations Manager - Home and Building

J. Astaphan & Company Limited is hiring a team-oriented individual to manage operations at our Home & Building location. The ideal candidate will have retail management experience, knowledge of the construction/hardware sector, and strong customer service and leadership skills.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Efficiently manage the daily operations of the location to ensure efficiency and productivity in a fast-paced retail environment
• Lead and develop a team of associates with a focus on customer service, and product knowledge
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels to maximize sales
• Achieve strategic objectives by developing plans, budgets, and efficient allocation of resources
• Analyze sales and performance data to identify trends in the construction sector among others to implement strategies for growth.
• Collaborate with the marketing department to optimize product placement, promotions and instore display
• Co-ordinate with department supervisors to meet Company goals
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality products
• Work with the General Operations Manager to implement and manage competitive pricing strategies
• Monitor market trends, competitor prices and products to position brands effectively
• Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.
• Train, supervise and evaluate supervisory staff
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, retail management or a related field
• Five plus [5+] years’ experience in retail management ideally in the hardware/construction industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on coaching and development
• Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions to enhance sales and operations
• Knowledge of OSHA laws and Health and Safety best practices
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to execute functions with minimum supervision
• Excellent time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
