Merchandising Team Leader

JOB SUMMARY:                

The Merchandising Team Leader monitor all the trade activities carried out by the merchandising team, whilst ensuring the optimization of brand presence in support of the company’s brand strategy through the supervising of the merchandising team.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of Merchandisers across the company's customer base.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Merchandising team to support the company's brand strategy.
  • Train, develop and guide the company's Merchandising Team within the territory, in order to provide acceptable Corporate Trade Standards across the company's customer base.
  • Ensure that all company's Merchandising Directives are being adhered to, and to monitor company's planograms, signage and initiate improvements if required.
  • Increasing the Merchandising footprint amongst existing customers currently not being serviced.
  • Evaluate all accounts and ensure compliance to all merchandising standards.
  • Implement merchandising plans as specified by planogram.
  • Prepare monthly report on team/area performance for submission to Trade Marketing Manager.
  • Ensure POP materials are properly posted and are visible to consumers.
  • Supervise the creation of special displays as required.
  • Complete quarterly (periodic) performance appraisals for assigned team members or as needed.
  • Ensure Journey Plan of assigned merchandisers is current and resources are utilized efficiently to effect maximum output.

 ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Marketing, Sales or related field of study
  • 5 CXC inclusive of Mathematics & English
  • Minimum five (5) years working experience in the FMCG industry with 2 years infield sales/merchandising experience.

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES

  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-managing and results-oriented.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Unquestionable integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to lead and coach a team of merchandisers.
