Materials Associate (Acado Foods)

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the daily operations of the plant and off-site warehouses.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the daily operations of the plant and off-site warehouses by supplying all raw and packaging materials to the lines, moving and securing raw materials and finish goods while ensuring compliance with defined employee safety and food safety standards. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Supports efficient conversion of raw material to finished products by:

• Transporting and loading product identified for regrind to be loaded into the crusher hopper manually or using the hoist.
• Inspecting the regrind screen daily to determine if fit for operation and replace if required.
• Transferring issued bulk raw materials (regrind and semolina) to the flour dispensing ramp.
•  Conducting visual raw material inspections before dispensing into   the respective blender.
• Maintaining flour mix levels in individual line silos manually or utilizing the hoist.
•  Transferring raw materials from silos to the individual lines according to established schedules and FEFO policy.

• Disassembles and assembles flour room equipment, as required for:

• Fumigation
• Stock checks
• Cleaning
• Shutdowns

• Supports inventory controls by:

• Assisting in the verification of finished goods from the previous day by SKU.
• Moving raw materials and finished products to the storage areas ensuring the maximisation and optimisation of all available space.
• Preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup per schedule
• Loading and offloading containers and other transport and delivery vehicles.
• Verifying brand, SKU, quantity, and expiration dates prior to delivery with customer and delivery driver.
• Performing inventory controls and stock checks as required.

• Performs basic and routine maintenance checks on equipment and tools used in the delivery or loading processes and notifies the Production Controller of any defects in a timely manner.
• Uses hoists, forklifts, forklift attachments and ramps, forklift charging unit, hand jacks and scissors lifts to carry out duties.

Position Requirements: 

•     At least five (5) O’ levels including English, Mathematics and a Science subject.
•     Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.
•     Knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office suite programs would be an asset.
•     Experience in using laboratory equipment would be an asset.
•     Forklift certification.
