The role is responsible for the maintenance and repairs to the facilities and fleet including leading/defining on scheduled servicing. The position supports the implementation and documentation of the Maintenance Policy and HSSE guidelines as well as the GCG Group standards, policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Performs maintenance, repair and diagnostic functions on company/leased vehicles meeting all manufacturer/company/client repair standards as instructed. 
  2. Ensures the implementation of the preventative maintenance program on company owned vehicles and generator set; demonstrates proper operating procedures to drivers and other operators of company owned vehicles and equipment.
  3. Maintains tools and workspace in a satisfactory condition to optimize performance.
  4. Assists the department in any other related functions as needed to meet the goals of the organization. 
  5. Must act in accordance with the company’s HSSE Policy which states that: All employees shall have awareness and understanding of health and safety hazards and risks that affect our business. The safety and health of every person is a fundamental consideration in every business decision and plan. We shall only undertake operational activity after giving due consideration to the health and safety of our employees and other stakeholders which may be affected by our work activities.
  6. To perform any other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  7. Be aware of and comply with all HSE rules and regulations inclusive of PPE, HACCP and Food Safety and Hygiene.
Additional functions to be performed as needed:
  • Minimizes waste and ensures all gets recorded.
  • Follow all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain safety and quality assurance protocols. 
Qualifications & Skills
  • At least ten (10) years of experience working in maintenance or facilities
  • Diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering or
  • Technician’s diploma in automobile mechanics or
  • A demonstrated combination of education and training
  • Valid Driver’s license. Defensive Driving an asset.
  • Valid Heavy T license.
  • Basic First Aid
  • Training in Health and Safety
  • MS Office an asset
