The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is a specialized agency with the responsibility for the care and protection of children, especially those who are at risk or have been victims of abuse or neglect.

The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking to recruit for the role of Junior Procurement Officer, on contract.

The Junior Procurement Officer is responsible for various tasks including preparing RFQs, initial evaluation of quotations, preparing purchase orders, coordinating with the inventory clerk, handling invoices, and maintaining documentation for the unit.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent Procurement Certification.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a Procurement environment.
  • Working knowledge of Public Sector Procurement and general knowledge of Procurement Laws and Regulations.
Principal Accountabilities/ Key Functions:
  • Receive purchase requisitions from the Procurement Officer/ Team Lead.

  • Prepare Request for Quotations (RFQs) in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Issue RFQs to approved suppliers.
  • Receive and review quotations from suppliers.
  • Compile evaluation reports summarizing supplier quotations.
  • Based on approved evaluation reports, generate purchase orders.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase orders prior to issuing purchase orders to respective suppliers.
  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers.
  • Provide updates on order status and escalate any queries or issues.
  • Collaborate with the inventory clerk to arrange delivery schedules.
  • Receive invoices from suppliers.
  • Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Submit verified invoices to Finance for payment, along with all necessary supporting documents.
  • Provide updates on procurement activities, including pending orders, deliveries, and payments.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for all procurement-related documents.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be given by the Procurement Officer/ Team Lead.
