Journalist/Presenter

Job Function

The Journalist/Presenter is responsible for creating engaging and credible news stories and contributing to the production and distribution of news in accordance with established guidelines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create and generate news stories or content for local, regional and international consumption

2.  Research, verify and collate content for stories or features

3. Write and Produce scripts for bulletins and headlines

4. Select appropriate locations, footage and sound, exercising editorial judgment on the best angle and approach to bring the story to life

5. Identify potential interviewees, brief interviewees, prepare interview questions and conduct both live and recorded interviews

6. Work as part of a team with Cameramen, other journalists, producers and crews

7. Plan and execute Outside Broadcasts

8. Present News/Features on Television

            Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or a related field
• Certification in Communication
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
