Job Summary:

The IT Application Specialist will play a critical role in collaborating with department heads to assess software needs, overseeing the implementation of new solutions, and providing high-level technical support. This position requires a proactive individual committed to continuous learning and adept at problem-solving to ensure the seamless functioning of business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with IT Business Analysts and department heads to develop and implement appropriate software applications.

• Manage and enhance in-house applications, ensuring top-tier performance and user training.

• Provide comprehensive technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain system documentation.

• Conduct software audits and recommend updates or replacements.

• Ensure security, efficiency, and maintainability in all software development.

• Support change management and facilitate user training.

• Maintain asset records and manage access to technology resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent field.

• 2-3 years of technical experience.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS.

• Knowledge of IT legislation in Jamaica.

• Experience with Microsoft applications and web development.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time management skills.
