Job Summary:
The IT Application Specialist will play a critical role in collaborating with department heads to assess software needs, overseeing the implementation of new solutions, and providing high-level technical support. This position requires a proactive individual committed to continuous learning and adept at problem-solving to ensure the seamless functioning of business applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with IT Business Analysts and department heads to develop and implement appropriate software applications.
Manage and enhance in-house applications, ensuring top-tier performance and user training.
Provide comprehensive technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain system documentation.
Conduct software audits and recommend updates or replacements.
Ensure security, efficiency, and maintainability in all software development.
Support change management and facilitate user training.
Maintain asset records and manage access to technology resources.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent field.
2-3 years of technical experience.
Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS.
Knowledge of IT legislation in Jamaica.
Experience with Microsoft applications and web development.
Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time management skills.
