Barita Investments Limited invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for the role of Quality Assurance Analyst in our Information Technology team.

ROLE & CORE FUNCTIONS

The incumbent will be responsible for assessing software quality through manual and automated testing to ensure that business requirements have been satisfactorily met and software is functioning as expected. The incumbent will also conduct Regression Testing to ensure that changes have not introduced any new errors, while assisting users in test planning, building test cases and completion of User Acceptance Testing

 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyse business requirements and system specifications; collaborate with the Development team to ensure appropriate test coverage
  •  Undertake functional, integration, regression and other testing as needed
  •  Develop, execute and monitor test cases (manual and automated) and analyse results
  •  Report bugs and errors to development teams
  •  Re-test defects and issues
  •  Help troubleshoot issues
  • Prepare and maintain relevant test documentation, including test scripts, reports and progress charts
  • Support other team members and IT resources in the implementation of testing-related activities
  • Liaise with and assist business units regarding the test planning, testing activity, and test results analysis
  • Other related functions which may include assistance with training for implemented changes

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or equivalent qualifications
  •  2 years’ experience as a QA analyst
  • Experience with manual and automated testing
  • Working knowledge of test management software
  •  Understanding of common software failures and faults
  • Practical experience applying structured test methods and processes
  • Experience with SQL, stored procedures and other scripting

REQUISITE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  •  Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative
  • Exceptional ability to work optimally in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT experience in the financial services sector, preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile methods is an asset
