The development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Learning and Development programs.

JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of our Learning and Development programs. He/She provides support on and/or executes Learning & Development, Performance Management and Employee Engagement activities. He/She will be accountable primarily for training needs assessment, as well as the development and maintenance of competency frameworks to guide effective employee development and career progression.   The incumbent requires creativity in designing effective methods of communicating HR information and engaging the workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Training Needs Assessment and Competency Framework Development

  • Conducts annual training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop targetedtraining programs.
  •      Develops a relevant competency framework to capture the core skill requirements to guide employee development and career progression within the organization.   

 2.       Training Programs

  • Designs and facilitates internal training programs.
  • Coordinates enrolment into training programs.
  • Administers spend against the departmental budget.
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of programs and makes needed adjustments.

 3.       Career Planning and Change Management

  • Collaborates with Department Heads and Senior HR Management to assist in the establishment of career pathing and team development.
  • Supports the implementation of organizational change initiatives through targeted training and development programs.
  • Supports the Manager and AVP in the coordination and administration of the succession planning framework.

 

 4.       Development of Training Content and Policy Documentation

  • Develops training materials, including manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
  • Creates and reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and regulatory standards.

 5.       Performance Management

           Assists with managing the Performance Management System by:

          Coordinating the Goal Setting process throughout the Caribbean.

          Coordinating the Mid-Year & End Of Year Appraisal process throughout the Caribbean.

          Managing the Performance Management module in Workday.

          Assisting with the management of the performance appeals process and under performers.

          Coordinate/Develop spreadsheets for analysis of performance and for annual merit increases.

 6.       HR Processes and Policies

  • Assists in the review, development and implementation of HR policies and processes, and provide recommendations for updating in line with HR Best Practice.

 7.       Employee Engagement

  • Develops annual engagement calendar.
  • Leads the development and execution of employee engagement programs and foster the company’s culture ensuring all initiatives/activities are promoted and delivered.
  • Manages and maintain the Company’s social platforms.
  • Assists with the planning and coordinating of Company events.
  • Cheers the employee engagement committee.

 8.       Executive Reports

  • Contributes to the preparation of the monthly Caribbean Business Review
  • Contributes to the preparation of the Quarterly Board Reports.
  • Assists with the preparation of Ad Hoc HR Reports.

 9.       Health & Safety Committee

  • As a member of the Health and Safety Committee, participate in scheduled meetings.

 10.   Other

  • Assists in the implementation of Human Resources projects.
  • Assists with the recruitment process as and when needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Train the trainer certification.
  • HR Certification (SHRM or CIPD).
  • Five (5) years’ Human Resources experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing employee learning and development programs.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Financial industry would be an asset

KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of functional HR.
  • High competence in Performance Management processes.
  • High competence in Learning and Development.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use PowerPoint at an expert level.
