About the role
The General Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction and developing employees, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all areas/hotel sectors to achieve expected performance. Ensure the best customer experience while delivering the required EBITDA.
Lead and inspire Executive Committee (EXCO) members and the rest of the hotel staff through specific management actions, training, and staff recognition. Lead by Example and promote Teamwork.
Collect and analyze information, prepare income statements and forecasts in order to make decisions related to increasing hotel RevPAR and profitability.On a monthly basis, forecast the hotel's financial position by estimating revenues and line-by-line expenses. Analyze previous and projected data to generate an accuratereforecast. Supervise and control hotel billing to ensure compliance with the annual budget.
Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts to include meeting clients, contacts, and potential clients. Tour the operating departments, daily making adjustments as needed via department heads. And conduct or assist in weekly staff meetings, including the review of previous and future sales and operations efforts.
Monitor guest reviews in order to improve the online reputation and hotel services. Promote and implement an environmentally conscious culture.
Education/Experience
At least six (6)years progressive experience as a General Manager in an all-inclusive hotel in the Caribbean.
Preferably be a citizen or resident of one of the member countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Hospitality/Business Administration.
Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
Background in the sales area.
Intermediate level of Spanish Language is desirable.
