The Operations Officer will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities, which are essential to achieve a safe, secure and efficient operation, through adherence of local regulations and standard operating procedures.

GCG is seeking an Operations Officer responsible for the coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities, which are essential to achieve a safe, secure and efficient operation, through adherence of local regulations and standard operating procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ensure the turnaround activities are in conformance with local regulations and standard operating procedures.

  • Coordinate and direct operational activities within the turnaround and manage any disruptions to these activities.

  • Conduct team briefings and debriefings as necessary.

  • Act as a safety coordinator by maintaining safe and secure processes for the duration of turnaround activities.

  • Ensure stand facilities are serviceable, equipment safely positioned, prior to arrival, during aircraft engagement and pre-departure.

  • Assist with checking ground support equipment on a daily basis to ensure that they are in good working order.

  • Complete the necessary documentation and report unserviceable equipment to the Maintenance Department.

  • Liaise with and between teams, departments and suppliers to ensure all activities are delivered within the agreed times.

  • Ensure activity sequence matches station turnaround plan with all activities delivered within the agreed times.

  • Prepare Load Sheets, calculate the aircrafts take-off weight, landing weight and its center of gravity.

  • Ensure that the agreed (AAA) Acceptance and Authorization Baggage Reconciliation procedures are followed and that the required paperwork is completed prior to departure.

  • Verify that freight on aircraft is loaded or off-loaded to specifications.

  • Verify that ULDs are received in good order and are built and numbered in accordance with specifications and that they are loaded correctly and all locks secured.

  • Verify and sign off on aircraft load.

  • Ensure that documents handed to the crew are for the appropriate flight, date and aircraft.  (This includes flight plans, meteorological folders, NOTOC, and provisional load sheets).

  • Represent the company at committee meetings and functions as required. Assist the Ramp Officer with supervising of the shift when required.

  • Marshal aircraft, performing ground to cockpit communication and dispatch aircraft as necessary.

  • Pushback aircraft as required.

  • Maintain high standards of employee morale and promote an atmosphere of cooperation.

  • Ensure that all corporate information (including but not limited to financial, human resources, strategy, plans etc.) is adequately protected and treated as confidential.

  • Ensure that cordial relations are maintained with all customers and other stakeholders (internal, external, local and overseas) and do all necessary to ensure that the company maintains a good and positive reputation.

  • Conduct on-the job training as required.

  • Adhere to ALL the rules and regulations contained in the Goddard Enterprises Limited Employee Handbook and any subsequent amendments.

  • Adhere to policy and procedures pertaining to the wearing of Company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

  • Keep up to date with all airline and company policies and procedures by reading and signing bulletin folders.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • A minimum of five (5) CXC passes, including Mathematics and English Language.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and customer service skills.

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ in the service industry

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience at management level and possess strong leadership skills

  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Able to communicate in English orally and in writing

  • 5+ years of Load Controller experience.

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

  • A valid driver’s licence.

  • A valid Police Certificate of Character.

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team
