POSITION TITLE:               Food & Beverage Manager

 

REPORTS TO:                      General Manager 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:     

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations within Sandy Lane Yacht Club and Residences. The person filling this role will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Food & Beverage department, providing exceptional guests experience within brand operating standards. This includes managing and coordinating the activities of the dining establishments, bars, events and services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the food and beverage department in alignment with the company’s goals and positioning as a luxury destination.
  • Ensure all food and beverage outlets are providing a high-quality dining experience for guests.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with guests, catering to their needs and preferences.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture among the food and beverage team, prioritizing guest satisfaction and providing personalized service.
  • Gather feedback from guests and use it to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures for food and beverage operations, ensuring consistency in quality, service, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional food quality and presentation.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance menus, incorporating seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients where possible.
  • Stay updated on food and beverage industry trends, new product developments, and emerging technologies to enhance food and beverage operations.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance revenue and profitability of the food and beverage department.
  • Set and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring revenue targets are met while controlling costs and maintaining profitability.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimize procurement processes to minimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Establish purchasing practices aligned with the Company’s nutrition and sustainability platforms.
  • Regularly evaluate Menus and Wine Lists to ensure relevance and alignment with market and sustainability practices.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to monitor financial transactions and ensure accurate accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate with the marina's marketing department to develop and implement promotions and innovative dining experiences to attract and retain customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create and execute promotional campaigns and events that drive food and beverage revenue.
  • Train and educate staff on SOPs, health and safety guidelines, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a skilled team of professionals, fostering a customer-centric and service-oriented culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide regular feedback, and identify training and development opportunities for staff members.
  • Create a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Nurture a strong sense of employee engagement and motivation to drive productivity and high-quality service.
  • Implement and monitor health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and licensing requirements.
  • Monitor and supervise the cleanliness and hygiene of all food and beverage outlets.
  • Continuously analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and guest feedback to enhance food and beverage offerings and guest experiences.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain food preparation areas, equipment, and storage facilities to meet health and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities department to ensure optimal functioning of food and beverage facilities and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with facilities management to ensure maintenance schedules, repairs, and renovations are in place and carried our as necessary.
