Fleet Services Coordinator (On Contract) - Job ID# 14265
OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE
To co-ordinate, the maintenance and repair of company owned and pool vehicles to ensure the availability of a safe and reliable fleet service.
FUNCTIONS
- Provides information to assist in the development of the Department’s long-term objectives, performance standards and Budget.
- Develops in conjunction with Fleet Services Supervisor, work plans and schedules for preventive maintenance, repair and licensing of company-owned vehicles.
- Troubleshoots vehicular malfunctions; identifies tools and spare parts required for the job and repairs / supports the timely repair of same, in accordance with related specifications.
- Verifies the completeness of repair and maintenance activities, including cleanliness, prior to return to users, to ensure adherence to related service and safety standards.
- Develops and maintains vehicle service files; and prepares weekly service reports and other assessment reports, as needed.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturers’ specifications and service requirements for all vehicles in the Company’s fleet
- Arranges for proper maintenance of perquisite vehicles.
- Identifies special tools to be used in the Auto Shop, issues, receives and secures the said tools for use and, maintains related registers to facilitate effective monitoring of tool usage.
- Participates in twenty-four (24) hour call duty rotation for Transport Services.
- Tests vehicles to ensure road-worthiness
- Generates reports on all daily/weekly vehicle maintenance activities and requisitions for incorporation into the Supervisor’s monthly report.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirements for the position are:
- A minimum of five (5) General Certificate Of Examinations (GCE) Ordinary level or Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) General Proficiency Level Passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
- National Craftsman's Certificate in Auto and Diesel Mechanic Repair Work.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in fleet management, including hands-on experience in the areas of auto mechanical repair and customer service.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Working knowledge of fleet management administration system
- Working knowledge of auto electrical and mechanical systems maintenance
- Working knowledge of the statutory guidelines with respect to vehicular road-worthiness
- Familiarity with relevant auto manufacturers’ codes and specifications
- Good Communications skills
- Team-oriented
- Ability to develop and maintain healthy working relationships
- Ability to drive defensively
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite software in the storage, retrieval and manipulation of data
- Proficiency in the use and application of SAP
- Proficiency in the use and application of TRIM
MUST BE IN THE POSSESSION OF:
- Valid Driver’s Permits - Classes 3 and 4, with at least three (3) years’ driving experience.
- Certificate of Good Character
- Defensive Driving Certificate
