DISTRIBUTION MANAGER (VEMCO)

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and managing the operational strategy, business processes and systems for overall distribution operations.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and managing the operational strategy, business processes and systems for overall distribution operations including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management and transportation to ensure high quality service to internal and external customers. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures using effective distribution and inventory management techniques to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers.
• Analyzing warehouse workflow including receiving, storing and export to ensure maximum utilization of storage space.
• Ensuring that storage conditions and logistics processes comply with quality assurance standards for a wide range of inventory types.
• Developing and monitoring KPIs related to warehousing and distribution management.
• Reviewing sales reports to identify market trends and areas for improvement in distribution methods.
• Leading the selection process for contracted service providers, setting approved terms and conditions and monitoring performance to ensure that customer service levels are maintained.
• Ensuring that the fleet meets all required safety, legal and quality standards.
• Leading the development of sustainable strategies and solutions for waste management, recycling and other required sustainability initiatives. 

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or any related discipline.
• A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience in a leadership position.
• FMCG experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
• Experience with an ERP system will be an asset.
