The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Marketing team, developing, executing, and optimizing marketing strategies and leading the interaction with Suppliers and Key Accounts.

JOB SUMMARY:      

The Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Marketing team, developing, executing, and optimizing marketing strategies and leading the interaction with Suppliers and Key Accounts. The role involves a mix of creative, analytical, and strategic tasks to achieve business goals, drive business growth and enhance brand presence and awareness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Works with the Management team to set the business’ marketing strategy for all brands, including new products, and presents the Division’s deliverables for marketing programs, strategies and budgets.
  • Works with the Divisional Head to set budgets and targets for Team Members for the Financial Year.
  • Manages team budgets to ensure a return on investment.
  • Monitors the overall marketing budget and notifies the Divisional Head of any instances where this is exceeded.
  • Leads the Marketing team to ensure attainment of assigned monthly targets and KPIs.
  • Establishes positioning, identifies target audiences and develops marketing plans by brand, tailoring objectives to different channels and segments.
  • Conceptualizes and executes multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, to ensure the alignment of communications and messages and appropriate POP across all channels.
  • Manages and supports the team with the design and production of promotional materials such as websites, POP materials, signage and brochures.
  • Develops pricing strategies to generate new business leads, manage the brands’ margins and ensure profitability.
  • Investigates and proposes new brand and product opportunities for continued expansion of the Division.
  • Researches and analyzes customer insights, consumer trends, customer reviews, market analysis and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest industry trends and marketing technologies.
  • Supports the preparation and delivery of content and social media plans.
  • Uses marketing analytics tools to track the performance of campaigns.
  • Negotiates and liaises with third-party marketing agencies as required.
  • Oversees the Company’s attendance at events such as Trade shows and conferences where necessary.
  • Provides training to the Marketing, Sales and Merchandising teams, as well as customers, as required.
  • Liaises between Principals and the Company to keep Principals current on product performance and market trends; and maintains close relationships, with the aim of becoming the preferred distributor.
  • Works closely with Principals in developing marketing strategies to effectively reach customers and influence purchase of products.
  • Actions reports and presentations as required by the Principals.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field of study. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar working environment.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a Managerial role. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of Brand Marketing strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, train, motivate, develop and support team members towards the achievement of overall sales targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel and Power-Point).
