VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified members of staff to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA).
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR
The incumbent will be required to assist in providing for and administering disaster preparedness emergency services in accordance with local and international standards to facilitate the delivery of quality health care to the Region.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop, recommend and oversee the implementation of disaster preparedness policies and procedures consistent with the overall philosophy and objective of the NCRHA.
- Assist in the implementation of disaster preparedness training programmes, emergency management services, recovery assistance programmes and other related programmes.
- Develop and schedule periodic exercises or drills in disaster preparedness management or emergency plans for the Authority.
- Assist with the development, equipping and maintenance of the Emergency Operation Centre for the Authority.
- Establish partnerships with other disaster preparedness organisations, locally and internationally, to ensure that the goals of the Authority are achieved.
- Supervise and monitor staff performance under purview.
- Assist in the organisation of training programmes in disaster preparedness and emergency management services.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends, legislation and best practices related to disaster and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure compliance with the National Emergency Management Authority.
- Assist the Chief Operating Officer in the administration and direction of disaster preparedness for the Authority in order to ensure that emergency plans and procedures are operational.
- Provide advice to technical teams of professionals who are responsible for providing highly efficient services in support of direct patient care at the Authority’s health institutions.
- Liaise with other agencies directly involved in disaster preparedness activities.
- Prepare budgets in disaster management for approval.
- Perform related duties as directed by the organisational relationship.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Hospital Administration and/or a diploma in Business Administration
- Experience in Emergency Management or Public Safety Administration or an equivalent accreditation
- At least seven (7) years post-qualification experience in a related job function, three (3) of which should be at the middle or senior management level.
* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago. *
