Duties

  1. Provide administrative support to the Credit Department to include but not limited to typing and filing all correspondence, ensuring accuracy, effective use of time and resources for member satisfaction
    a) Commitment letters:  2 business days
    b)  Loan related correspondence :   3 business days
    c)  General correspondence:  2/3 business days
  2. File all correspondence for the Credit Department and Notify members on the status of their Loan Application prior to preparing Commitment Letters and confirm mode of delivery e.g., electronic mail or overnight bag, telephone calls etc.
  3. Prepare weekly Loan Summary Sheets for submission to Credit Committee
  4. Arrange for the electronic signing of documents by Joint Board Committee Members uploaded on SignNow
  5. Prepare monthly loan summary report by latest 4th of each month
  6. Work collaboratively with Credit team for the seamless flow of the loan process from start to completion to ensure the members’ needs are completely satisfied.
  7. Prepare discharge documentations when loans have been repaid at the request of members
  8. Properly execute, recording and filing of completed securities documents, i.e., properly executed, stamped and filed with the respective Agencies, eg. Registrar of Companies, National Land Agency, Titles Office etc.
  9. Dispatch signed copies of Security documents to members
  10. Filing and preparation of obsolete documents for shipment to the Archives
  11. Ensure security documents are recorded on the system before the disbursement of loans.
  12. Update Loan/Securities Log Register and follow up on expired Insurance, Fitness, Registration and matured hypothecated fund, forming part of loans collateral.
  13. Prepare relevant documents for arbitration proceedings and court action when required.
  14. Prepare documents for seizure of collateral held in delinquent accounts.
  15. Assess and determine the accuracy and completeness of security documents and related documentation used to support loan applications
  16. Verify and determine the accuracy and completeness of legal documents received from external counsel, financial institutions and all interested parties in support of loan applications, ensuring that the Bank’s Letter of Undertaking has been satisfied
  17. Check off input of NSIPP weekly and ensure that all are accounted for
  18. Perform any other related duties assigned by your supervisor or Manager.

 

Minimum Educational Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • BSc. in Management Studies, Accounting, Finance, Banking or related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
  • Secretarial Diploma from a recognized Institution or Certificate in Paralegal Course

 

Experience:

  • Three years’ experience in loan processing, preferably in a Credit Union or other financial institution.

Specific Knowledge (however acquired) Required to Start:

  • Computer Skills along with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Good command of the English Language
  • Knowledge of the Credit Unions product and services
  • Knowledge of the security documents used by the Credit Union
