Our client is seeking a Cost Accounting Analyst who will supports their Senior Manufacturing Accountant in maintaining an accurate and efficient standard costing system.

Key Responsibilities:

Costing & Financial Analysis:

• Assist in preparing costing schedules for monthly management reports within set deadlines.

• Support the preparation of accurate cost analyses for annual budgets and re-forecasts

• Conduct monthly variance analyses, providing insights into budgeted vs. actual performance and year-over-year comparisons.

• Perform daily reconciliations of inventory movements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Assist in the costing of manufactured and imported products.

• Verify inventory adjustments and write-offs based on quality control recommendations. Inventory & Production Oversight:

• Participate in periodic/monthly stock counts and inventory cycle counts. • Review and validate inventory counting journals before posting.

• Investigate and resolve inventory variances to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Monitor and assess production scrap, spillage, and waste on a daily basis.

 

General Accounting & Compliance:

• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and prepare audit schedules as required.

• Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and financial reporting standards.

• Assist in developing and implementing procedures to minimize future variances.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Perform additional duties as required to support financial and operational efficiency.

 

Job Requirements:

• BSc Degree in Accounting, AAT Level III, or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Experience in manufacturing or distribution industries is an asset.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, costing methodologies, and variance analysis.
