The Business Unit Head is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic market growth of portfolio brands inclusive of product distribution, promotion and market research within our Health & Wellness Division.

Job Summary: The Business Unit Head is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic market growth of portfolio brands inclusive of product distribution, advertising, promotion and market research. The Business Unit Head is also responsible for identifying and securing innovative technology, products and/or services to expand the Company's existing product portfolio in all public and private medical institutions in Barbados & OECS.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Management and co-ordination of all marketing, promotion and ensure specific brand objectives for each brand within the portfolio are achieved.
  • Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products, analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information on a regular basis.
  • Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and ROI results.
  • Supplier Management - Ensure regular ongoing communication with suppliers to ensure that the company is aligned to supplier objectives and expectations, appraised of relevant market conditions and brand related issues.
  • Manage the product ordering process to ensure product availability and within company guidelines (i.e. based on agreed carrying stock levels) and at the right price
  • Conduct performance appraisals of team members in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain a harmonious work environment and ensure team members comply with safety regulations
  • Manage, motivate, monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports
  • Conduct Sales presentations to key stakeholders – Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and Hospital Administrators; etc. and develop strong business relationships with key influences in the Public Health System
  • Actively seek out new opportunities within the current portfolio.
  • Manage the marketing AP budget and deliver marketing activity within their agreed budget as per approved brand plans.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Marketing or Management related)
  • Preferably a Post Graduate degree (MBA)
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial/Marketing Management role
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Health & Wellness - Medical, Equipment & Supplies Industry would be an asset
  • A good understanding of financial management and budgetary control
