The Business and Employment Centre is looking for an experienced and results-driven Production Controller to join its clients operations.

The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently, and should have experience in staff training, particularly in HACCP standards.

Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing operational and production processes and procedures, including but not limited to the following:
 

  1. Ensures that the plant, machinery, and buildings are suitable for the needs of the Company’s operations and are properly maintained.
  2. Monitors costs of Production, Maintenance, and Distribution activity.
  3. Ensures that staff are adequately trained and the HACCP Policy is followed.
  4. Ensures that a production plan is generated and implemented by the Production Supervisors and provides a weekly Operations Report.
  5. Forecasts requirements; prepares an annual budget; schedules expenditures; analyses variances; and initiates corrective actions.
  6. Manages relationships with key operations vendors.
  7. Establishes contracts and pricing and ensures proper maintenance while serving as the primary liaison with utilities and local government agencies, such as fire, police, health, and safety agencies.
  8. Reviews and approves all operational invoices and ensures they are submitted for payment.
  9. Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  10. Works closely with the Managing Director and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and follows through with implementation.
  11. Ensures that the production is planned and executed in the most efficient and effective manner given the resources available to meet Sales Demand.
  12. Monitors the status of all orders, informs relevant parties when supply problems are anticipated, and takes action as necessary.

  • Computer literate with knowledge and proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.   


Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Science/ Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role at a supervisory or management level within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and success in recruiting and retaining production teams.
  • Previous working experience in a multicultural environment.
