Job Summary:

To possess in-depth application knowledge and provide expert support for The JMMB Group production applications and planned releases including understanding user requirements, training, deployment, maintenance, trouble shooting, issue resolution, bug specification, minor testing, and reporting.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a subject matter expert for all applications in production with respect to maintenance, trouble shooting, monitoring, providing guidance on how applications operate and can be leveraged for the implementation of new products and services.  This includes applications used by The JMMB Group such as but not limited to, T24, Checkplus, P3, Trading system, client services, auto-id, security management system, Platinum, JMMB products - Income builder, fund products, cash secured loans, other credit products and new products being deployed.
  • Become acquainted and learn to support and maintain all new applications being deployed.
  • Support the roll-out of the finished applications or modifications, or of other software product/system as assigned. This includes ensuring a smooth transition of application support from the project team to the support unit.
  • Provides second tier user support for applications in production as required facilitating business continuity, within the areas and levels of competence. This includes correcting erroneous data caused by application bugs or incorrect application usage, adhoc request for information and any relevant request logged in the footprints software.
  • Log request to change application data or bug fix through footprints.
  • Log request to change application data or bug fix through footprints.
  • Monitor the Footprints application to ensure that relevant requests is actioned according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) and that the users are kept informed during the process.
  • Monitoring of all daily runs (Funds, COB, etc), periodic statement generation and the timely resolution of support issues related to The JMMB Group.
  • Develop stored procedures and sub routines to support MIS reports.
  • Promote automation by identifying and recommending the automation of manual processes where appropriate.
  • Recommend software improvements and write business and software requirement for solutions identified.
  • Develop software specifications for the development team for software improvements in particular bug fixes and recommended software improvements. Specifications can be as detailed as pseudo code and or detailed functional specifications.
  • In some instances, develop test plan, perform code review and “system test” bug fixes / software improvements.  This should be evidenced in footprint.
  • Review other team member changes to “application data” in footprints.
  • Prepares technical documentation and assists in conducting the training of team members in new and/or changed applications as required.
  • Promotes The JMMB Group philosophy of the Vision of Love and its unique culture.
  • Is engaged in the transformation process for the continuous improvement of The JMMB Group of companies. 

Qualifications (Education & Certification):

  • Diploma in Information Technology
  • Experience working with Fourth Generation programming languages including ASP, VB, PHP and experience with MSSQL databases including SQL queries. SQL Certification would be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years working experience in Information Technology particularly in Software Development, Testing and User Support.    
  • Customer focused with a passion for producing consistently excellent and timely customer service.
  • Highly proficient in oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of presentation and graphic tools.
  • Experience in doing business requirements.
  • Worked in the financial industry for at least two years in application support.
