As an account payable your responsibility is to make sure that all bills are paid effectively and promptly. Processing, confirming, and reconciling bills, keeping track of spending, and keeping a record of everything for tax purposes.

Job Title: Junior Accountant/ Payables Clerk

Reports to: Financial Controller

About the Role

As an account payable your responsibility is to make sure that all bills are paid effectively and promptly. Processing, confirming, and reconciling bills, keeping track of spending, and keeping a record of everything for tax purposes are all tasks performed by these financial specialists to assist administrative and clerical functions.

Tasks/ Responsibilities

· Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.

· Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

· Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance.

· Preparing analyses of accounts and producing weekly and or monthly reports for management.

· Assist senior financial officers as necessary.

Preferred Skills

· Knowledge of IAS and IFRS

· Proficient in Microsoft office (Word and Excel)

Qualifications:

· BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration related field, OR Level I ACCA

· ACCA Certification (would be an asset)

· Minimum two (2) years' experience in a similar capacity

· Some College OR Professional Certification in specified field
