Position Summary:

As an Accounting Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the company. You will be responsible for managing customer invoices, ensuring timely payments, and following up on outstanding receivables. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of bills and vendor invoices
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and ensure proper coding
  • Generate and send invoices to customers
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments
  • Reconcile AR balances and customer accounts
  • Maintain accurate records of payments and transactions
  • Assist in collections efforts when needed
  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
  • Provide support for other accounting functions as needed

 

Competences & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ACCPAC/Sage, Microsoft Excel)
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Associate’s degree or higher in accounting or finance preferred
  • ACCA certification is a plus
