Wireless Communcation Officer

To dialog/communicate, through a wireless communication medium, with personnel, security Officers and other employees on duty at various customer base locations, ensuring that the officers and customer’s personnel and property are all safe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and dispatch emergency calls for ambulance and other emergency services
• Receive and screen incoming calls for law enforcement, fire, medical or other emergency services.
• Make status calls to officers on location, every hour on the hour in an urgent and serious manner.
• Send daily reports concerning status calls to management, reporting any officer who fails to respond for corrective action.
• Send broadcast messages to officers informing and alerting them of any emergency activities.
• Provides pre-arrival instructions to caller.
• Coordinate emergency requests, relaying instructions to closest and most suitable units available.
• Interpret coded or visible signals received on alarm signal board by direct wire or register tape from customers’ premises that indicate opening and closing of protected premises, progress of security guard, unlawful intrusions or fire.
• Maintain order and control over the airways by scheduling all transmissions in order of priority.
• Record and reports all non- functional equipment and initiate action for repairs.
• Prioritize requests for assistance and dispatches appropriate personnel for emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Coordinate response of personnel via radio communications.
• Maintain a log of all broadcast received or transmitted.
• Question callers to determine location and seriousness of emergency and response needed.
• Enter information into computer-aided dispatch system
• Operate two-way radio and/or other communication equipment to dispatch personnel and equipment and to relay instructions or information to remote units.
• Report irregular signals for corrective action
• Answer or forwards non-emergency requests for assistance.
• Record calls broadcasts, and complaints received, compile work volume statistics and keeps records of customer service requests and complaints.

Working Schedule:

• 12 hour shifts as rostered by Management
