Welder/Fabricator, ANSA McAL Chemicals Limited

Perform skilled welding and fabrication work on various plant equipment, structures, and piping systems, ensuring the integrity and safety of the plant’s operations, and work completed to the highest standards and in compliance with safety regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute welding and fabrication work on plant equipment, structures, and piping systems, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and plant specifications.
• Conduct repairs on damaged or worn equipment, fabricating and welding components as necessary to restore them to full operational condition.
• Design and fabricate custom parts, supports, and structures based on plant needs, working from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
• Regularly inspect welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects, taking corrective action as needed.
• Work closely with other maintenance personnel to coordinate welding and fabrication tasks as part of larger repair or maintenance projects.
• Ensure all welding and fabrication tools and equipment are in good working order, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Keep accurate records of all welding and fabrication work, including materials used, work completed, and any issues encountered.
• Provide input during the planning phase of projects, offering insights into the feasibility and design of welding and fabrication tasks.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks in a manner that minimizes environmental impact and complies with relevant environmental regulations.
• Be available to assist with emergency welding and fabrication repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain plant operations.
• Perform any additional duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the department and meet organizational targets.
