Loss Prevention Engineer / Process Safety Engineer (6-month contract)

       INDUSTRY: OIL & GAS

• The role will entail supporting completion of the remaining studies of the Major Accident Hazard Review as well as supporting other general duties within the site’s Loss Prevention/PSM function. Job tasks will  include but not be limited to the following:
• Reviewing preceding PHA studies (including HAZOP / LOPA / SIL Study / Bowtie Reviews etc.) to become familiar with the underlying works to be referenced for the remaining studies.
• Conducting Consequence Modelling using PHAST software, in accordance with company guidelines and industry best practices
• Participating in ALARP study, in accordance with company guidelines
• Providing assistance in addendum for the site Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and subsequent impacts as required
• Assisting in compiling and classifying remedial actions and supporting remedial action prioritization and implementation.
• Supporting ensuing documentation and reports arising from the MAH studies
• Scribing HAZOP and LOPA revalidation.
• Providing any other support to the PSM and Responsible Care functions, as required.

• Qualifications, Experience & Critical Skills/Abilities:
• Minimum of seven (7) years experience with mandatory Process Safety Management experience.
• Proficiency in Consequence Modelling using PHAST software is required.
• Prior knowledge / experience with PHA studies (e.g. HAZOP/LOPA/Bowties/ALARP Studies / SIL Studies etc.).
• Knowledge of PHA Pro and Bowtie XP software would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of QRA and its application would be considered an asset.
