Warehouse Attendants

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of shipments both receiving and dispatching loading. The Warehouse Attendant role requires accuracy and efficiency when handing products. 

 Responsibilities

·         Offloading and loading of products to and from trucks and containers.

·         Scanning the returned items, remove them from the truck and pack them appropriately for storage.

·         Participating in audits by documenting and counting products.

·         Picking products to ensure that the product needed for loading are met based on the goods available in the warehouse.

·         Packing, shrink wrapping, and labelling products as needed.

·         Reworking and relabeling of products.

·         Weighing cases in need of weight verification.

·         Completing necessary documentation as required and

·         Maintaining organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.

·         Performing other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

·         Working experience in Shipping and Receiving role.

·         Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

·         Basic mathematical skills.

·         Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

·         Attention to detail in all areas of work.

·         Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

Forklift Operator

The incumbent will be required to utilize tractors equipped to move products and other items around the facility in a safe and appropriate manner. Responsibilities include the loading and unloading of trucks, supporting control with inventory documentation and full adherence to safety compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

·         Operating lifting device (forklift) 

·         Manually load and unload materials from pallets, etc.

·         Follow all workplaces safety policies and compliance regulations

·         Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service

·         Diagnose, identify defects in heavy duty equipment / forklift

·         Maneuver forklift into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading team as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned

·         Check forklift before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order

·         Report forklift defects or damages

·         Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment

·         Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to storage locations

·         Place products received from production in warehouse in an efficient manner to maximize warehouse space

·         Pull and prepare products for shipment

·         Efficiently move products from staging or storage into trucks or trailers

·         Inspect inbound and outbound shipments for damages

·         Carry out proper stock rotation

·         Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following

·         Accurately weigh and document material

·         prescribed work methods

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience

·         High School Diploma or Certificate

·         At least 5 CXC or GCE subjects including Mathematics and English Language

·         Forklift training certificate from a recognized institution

·         At least 2 years’ experience as forklift operator

·         Knowledge of forklift safety

·         Possess a valid Driver’s License

·         Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing

·         Ability to stay calm and work well under pressure.
