JOB OVERVIEW:

Develop comprehensive training packages that encompass elements needed to maintain a motivated and skilled workforce and to fulfill the needs of the organization, by strategically linking it to the organization’s mission and vision. Assess, prescribe, design, deploy, document and measure new and innovative learning strategies and performance intervention that will ultimately help Secrets Resorts to achieve greater organizational effectiveness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Essential:

  • A college education
  • At least five years experience in a similar field
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective supervisory skills. 
  • Possess a good command of the English language and the ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate, both in person and by telephone.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hotel services and facilities        
  • TPDCo Certification

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:          

  • Identify training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with managers and the human resources department.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires.
  • Evaluate the performance of instructor/s and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop testing and evaluation procedures.
  • Formulate and conduct career development plan applications, to ascertain the area of training required.  
  • Produce training materials for in-house courses, ensure the appropriately space is set and that completion certificates are issued at the end of training.
  • For computer-assisted or recorded training; he/she should ensure that cameras, microphones, and other necessary technology platforms are functioning properly and that individual computers or other learning devices are configured for training purposes.
  • Manage the delivery of training and development programmes, through a training strategy for the organization.
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected processes, changes, and other factors.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards.
  • Train supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
  • Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community schools and designate training procedures.
  • Prepare training budget for department or organization
  • Amend and revise programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment.
  • Help line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  • Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses.
  • Increase understanding of e-learning techniques.
