FT Farfan - Trade Marketing Officer

Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible for working closely with the Marketing Manager in collaboration with the assigned Division Managers to develop and execute trade marketing strategies to support the organization’s overarching goals. This position reports to the Marketing Manager – Marketing Group.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Works closely with the Division Managers and Marketing team to develop and implement annual Operational Trade Marketing plan for assigned Divisions.
  • Conducts weekly trade visits to key accounts and provides weekly reports on all customer visits accompanied by photos, action plan, customer requirements            and cost for approval and execution.
  • Conducts regular brand audits to understand and document brand and channel trends ensuring all required corrective actions are developed and implemented.
  • Works closely with Marketing & Sales teams in the development & procurement of point of purchase materials for assigned Divisions.
  • Manages relationship with third party suppliers and develops preferred supplier list for point of purchase materials.
  • Assists with managing the allocated trade budgets in collaboration with the Marketing Manager, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and tracked.
  • Works closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all dealer activations are executed according to plan.
  • Audits the trade regularly ensuring that Divisions’ brands have optimum visibility and pricing.
  • Negotiates and manages placement of point of purchase materials and signage and the respective trade agreements (where relevant) within the distribution channels including but not limited to agro shops, hardwares, plumbing and electrical stores.
  • Monitors and report all competitive activity in the trade and recommends appropriate tactical initiatives to counteract such activity.
  • Demonstrates active adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, while also promoting HSE awareness.
  • Performs other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company.

 

Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Local travel requires that the candidate owns a reliable vehicle and uses same for site visits as required.
  • A valid Driver’s permit.
