Toll Collection
JOB SUMMARY
The Toll Collector is responsible for processing vehicles and collecting toll fare (with the exception of toll exempt vehicles) in the form of cash, and other methods of payment, accurately recording all events and anomalies on the prescribed Activity Sheet, and at the end of shift declare all cash (local and foreign currency) received.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
▪ Assesses, collect, and register toll fares for Classes 1-4 of vehicles passing through an assigned toll lane based on the automatic vehicle detection system/the height and length of the vehicle.
▪ Issue machine-printed or prepares handwritten cash receipts.
▪ Examine monies (local and foreign currency) to ensure that they are not counterfeit or mutilated.
▪ Comply with rules and regulations pertinent to Toll Collection as well as the safety of themselves and others
▪ Demonstrate and maintain professionalism at all times. This includes exercising self control when dealing with rude or irate customers and document any anomalies that occurs throughout the shift.
▪ Report to direct supervisor all events and anomalies that occurs throughout the shift.
▪ Communicate request for information from motorist to direct supervisor
▪ Assist with the training of new Toll Collectors on request.
▪ Prepares report(s) on abnormal incidences in the toll lane, such as Violations.
