CAGE (Barbados) Inc., is seeking a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Ticket Writer (Part-Time), according to the following criteria:

 

Job Summary:

The position will be responsible for sports wagering including ticket writing, receiving and accounting for cash paid by guests, processing winning tickets and supporting the sports betting and wagering operations by providing efficient and courteous customer service to all guests. Maintains and supports effective staff and customer relations.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) CXC or GCE ‘O’ level subjects at General level, including Mathematics.
  • Two (2) years’ experience preferably in a sales environment. Experience in sports and online gaming would be an asset or a good understanding of sports.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge: Email, Internet and Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Customer service-oriented individual, focused on improving the customer experience.
  • Good verbal, writing and listening skills.
  • Experienced in interacting with the general public.

 

Special Job Skills & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills in cash handling. Ability to apply basic logic and mathematical skills to player and money tracking.
  • Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to apply exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with team members and guests.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.

  • Ability to follow precise directions and learn CAGE equipment quickly.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Receives cash from customer, verifies amount, and the amount to be applied to sports wager. Writes tickets in a timely manner and make correct changes as necessary.
  • Verifies tickets and payoffs and makes payments in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations.
  • Maintains a cash bank for his/her shift.
  • At end of shift, balances cash received to receipts written, reconciles and accurately reports location transactions, prior to handover. Deposits cash into safe.
  • Notifies the General Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Monitors and maintains Sports Betting Kiosks.
  • Stocks Sports Betting workstations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean.
  • Explains wagering rules, including betting lines, odds, and bet types to guests as needed.
  • In accordance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements, any suspicious activity should be immediately
  • reported to the General Manager.
  • Provides information and assistance to customers in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure exemplary delivery of guest service.
  • Verifies LED boards are correct; provides and verifies accuracy of guest informational sheets.
  • Notifies management of escalated or prevalent guest issues, concerns.
  • Practices outstanding guest service, to both internal and external guests, by promoting teamwork and creating a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere that encourages mutual respect.
  • Ensures compliance with department, venue, gaming regulatory policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Proactive in anticipating guests needs striving to provide memorable service experiences.
  • Arrives on property to work in complete uniform, displaying a well-groomed appearance and clean hygiene.
  • Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by management.
